Growing Pains of a Dragon

Spike stood nervously in front of Twilight.

"Well, what is it you wanted me to help you with Spike?" Said Twilight.

"I need your help," said spike, "To get something out of my system!"

"Well, what is it Spike?"

Spike beckons Twilight; she steps forward to the small dragon. He nervously beckons her closer, the distance between them closing each step until they were only inches away. Spike's hands caress Twilight's face, pulling her in closer.

"Spike?" said twilight nervously, "What are you…"

"Please, Twilight" cut in Spike, "Don't resist, I need to get this out…"

Spike's face was mere centimeters away now, their eyes glued on each other. Spike could feel Twilight's heavy breaths on his scales.

"Nothing has to change," said Spike, "Just let me have this…"

Spike closed the gap, pressing his lips against twilight's. They stood there for what felt like millennia, their lips locked together, and their cheeks rose red. With great reluctance, they pulled apart from each other, not once breaking their gaze. Both of their heads were overloaded with confused thoughts. For the longest time, neither of them said anything, until Twilight broke the silence.

"Did… did that help?" Asked Twilight. Spike shook off his daze.

"Yes it did… Thanks a lot Twilight," said Spike, shyly looking away, "I hope it wasn't too awkward for you."

"It's alright," Twilight said, her face still red. "I'm glad I could help."

A long awkward silence befell the two.

"If you don't mind, I think I'll go see what Rarity's doing," Said Spike, heading for the door, "Thanks again Twilight!" She could only smile and give off a small chuckle at how quickly the dragon recovered.

"You do that. Have fun!" She said, waving a hoof.

Just as the door slammed, she sighed.

"Oh Spike, someday…"
